EASTERN AREA CONFERENCE

ON THE WATER TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS, including, but not limited to Personal Watercraft demonstration/training, (remember for any QE signoffs, mentoring must be completed). Fort Harrison, phone (406) 324 3355. There are 20 single rooms reserved (adjoining rooms available for couples); room rates are approximately $25.00 per room per night. Indicate that you are with the CGAUX. You will need your CGAUX ID when checking in.

Fri 18, July: Dinner on your own. Hospitality room with friends and fellowship time at the Fort Harrison service club. 1800, cash bar and all the goodies you can munch on.
Sat 19, July: Lunch will be “portable”so we can take the tour of the Gates.
Sat 19, July (evening): catered dinner buffet by Chili O’ Brien’s featuring Roast Turkey and Apricot Glazed Ham with all the fixin’s;
Breakfast meals will be on your own.

The conference will end on 20, July by noon for those who have some distance to travel.
If anyone is flying in, please let me know and we can arrange a ride if you aren’t renting.

Our guest speaker will be LCDR Martin Smith, USCG from Seattle who will be promoting leadership training along with protocol and courtesies.

Other training to be conducted by your fellow auxiliarists, including our DCO Miller and OTO Paul Bellona. Now’s your time for check offs if you need them. Or do some crew work on the Montana facilities and see how these “very” inland waters differ from yours.

There will be a featured tour and information of “THE GATES OF THE MOUNTAIN” the cost of the tour will be $11.00 adults and $10.00 for those of you who admit to being seniors.

Helena is town steeped in history; plan to include some of the other local sites. Fort Harrison, for example, is the original home of the Special Forces.
